Human trafficking - sexual exploitation
According to the internationally accepted definition, “human trafficking” involves recruiting people, offering their services, transferring them, arranging for their transfer through intermediaries, or harboring or receiving them for the purpose of exploitation. In Switzerland, this is a criminal offense punishable under Article 182 of the Criminal Code (CC).
Human trafficking is literally slavery in the sense that people are forced into prostitution, labor, or begging. Human trafficking occurs when a person is recruited, transferred through intermediaries, and exploited through violence, deception, threats, or coercion.
