Legal basis

· Definition: art. 934 Swiss Code of Obligations (CO)

· Company name (art. 945 CO) : Whoever operates a business as a sole proprietor must utilize as the essential element of its name the family name with or without the first names. No addition suggesting a company relationship may be added to the firm name.

· When filing applications for this type of company please refer to the following:

art. 36 to 39 ORC (Ordinance on commercial register)
and: art. 16 ORC (content, form and language of application), art. 17 ORC (person responsable for application), art. 18 ORC (signature of application).
