Aims
The Fribourg region is replete with natural beauty, historical and cultural riches and age-old traditions. These assets also have a role to play in business development. The growth of tourism around Fribourg is a good opportunity to diversify the economy of the Canton. The cantonal government makes every effort to promote quality tourism so that the aims of a careful use of land resources and the environment can be respected.

Contribution of the State
The Ministry of Economic Affairs aims to promote tourism by monitoring and coordinating the activities of tourism bodies at cantonal, regional and local levels. The State allocates a yearly sum to finance the activities of the Union fribourgeoise du tourisme, the cantonal tourism organisation, and of recognised regional tourism associations.
