Aims
The energy policy of the Canton could be summarized in the following way: promoting energy-efficiency measures in the context of a strategy for sustainable development: this is how one could summarise. Today, the success of a long-term business development strategy necessarily depends on the prudent management of energy resources and the regulation of energy consumption.

Service for Energy
It is against that background that the activities of the Service for Energy have to be viewed. In order to diversify the energy supply, the service particularly encourages the use of renewables: solar and wind energy, geothermics, wood, biogas.

Are you a corporation or a private individual planning a new building or a renovation? The Service for Energy can provide information about different energy systems. It can also inform you about the following incentives offered by the Canton and their eligibility conditions:

  • subsidies for equipment using renewables
  • subsidies for equipment that uses energy efficiently
  • tax incentives for taxpayers who have built or refurbished energy-saving equipment
  • current federal programmes
